We are pleased to present you with a first draft of the new website of the Swiss AAPR.

The Supreme Council mandated us to replace the current site, improving the visual and functionalities to make it an effective communication medium between the Coll of the workshops and the Grand Chancellor, but also a new showcase for the members of the REAA Switzerland, as well as for Internet users.

The goal of this test version is to collect your feedback.

The site team would like to collect your constructive comments on the aesthetics of the site, its ease of navigation or information search, and if you are a workshop manager, or a workshop secretary or treasurer, what features do you like or not so like.

A constructive remark is characterized by the expression ” because “. In the case of a proposal, it will be followed by ” thus “. Examples are presented at the end of this letter.

BEFORE you dive into the site, please read the following. This is important to understand the context in which you will evolve.

This site is a draft. Not all features are present. We will develop the site step by step.

Today you have at your disposal :

  • The public showcase of the REAA Switzerland, menu and items that are publicly available. This area is available in 4 languages. ATTENTION : the articles are taken from the internet (they are not from the Swiss REAA), and the translations have been made with google translate or deepl.com.
  • An Intranet zone.

The Intranet area provides access to other areas :

  • A Profile Area in which you can insert your photo, your biography and update your postal or telephone address. You will be able to change your password.
  • For the Secretaries, Treasurer and Workshop Manager roles, specific menus, pages and buttons appear to carry out the respective tasks.

There are a few principles to remember.

  1. Only the Grand Chancellor updates the data in the database. A l’exception des données modifiables dans le profil individuel des membres du REAA (zone Profile).
  2. Coll members have announcement forms and change that they fulfill. These forms are automatically sent to the Grand Chancellor who verifies the information and then updates the system. As a secretary, you will also receive the data of the form you have sent. It remains for the Grand Chancellor to say when the update was made.

There are a few features to remember about the current test site

  1. The test site is hosted by Infomaniak, a Swiss hosting company that guarantees that the processing and storage of data is located in Switzerland.
  2. The test site is accessible to you, but is not known to search engines. It is installed in a subdirectory of a closed site. This means that it can only be accessed with the address (URL) provided to you. For your information, this closed site (gnsis.ch belongs to Olivier Bonnaud (F Ch, member of the REAA site team).
  3. The test site is secure (https), the data transmitted between your computer and the computer servers is encrypted.
  4. The data you will find there is real, but the usernames (email address and password) have been changed, except for you.
  5. Not all the data from the old site has been taken over. C’est volontaire, car c’est un site de test. Par exemple, les historiques du parcours maçonnique ne sont pas repris.
  6. The roles assigned to you are ” Restricted  administrator”, i.e. just below Administrator. The administrator role is reserved for the Grand Chancellor, as it requires a little training and support to avoid mishandling on the test site.
  7. The test site is built to be ergonomic with tablets, smartphones, laptops, desktops, with small and large screens. It also includes contrast and font size features for people with vision problems.

The team of the new REAA Switzerland website thanks you in advance for the time you will devote to browsing and testing, and especially for the constructive comments you will offer us.

The entire team of the new REAA Switzerland website wishes you good times on the site.

Example  of constructive remarks and comments:

  • I like the intranet login page because it’s simple and there is the link to change my password.
  • I don’t like the search box in the directory, because the settings don’t fit on my small screen.
  • I shouldadd an online help page, so it would help me find my way around from one time to the next.
